New Delhi – More than 17,000 Indian nationals have been repatriated from Malaysia as part of India’s largest-ever evacuation scheme that has brought home about three million citizens from different countries in the wake of the coronavirus turmoil.
The 100th flight from Malaysia under the Vande Bharat evacuation programme was organised on Friday, the Indian High Commission in Malaysia said on Twitter.
Thousands of Indian citizens return from abroad every day on flights operated by India-based carriers.
The repatriation operation, which began in May, has benefited almost three million Indians, according to information tweeted by Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. – Bernama
