17, 352 new cases, Sarawak highest with 3,714

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia reported 17,352 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

In a Twitter post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,862,187.

He said there were 20,201 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 1,591,028.

There are 252,668 active cases with 975 patients being treated in intensive care and 435 requiring respiratory assistance.

Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases with 3,714.

Meanwhile, the 272 deaths take the number of fatalities to 18,491.

This was followed by Selangor (2,126), Johor (2,101), Sabah (1,844), Kedah (1,599), Penang (1,558), Kelantan (1,213), Perak (1,082), Terengganu (700), Pahang (463), Kuala Lumpur (398), Melaka (295), Negeri Sembilan (193), Perlis (38), Putrajaya (23) and Labuan (5).
