18,547 new Covid-19 cases, Sarawak still highest

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia reported 18,547 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

In a Twitter post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,880,734.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 18,902 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 1,609,930.

There are 252,002 active cases with 977 patients being treated in intensive care and 447 requiring respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the 311 deaths take the number of fatalities to 18,802.

Sarawak recorded the highest number of cases with 3,200.

This was followed by Selangor (2,407), Johor (2,174), Sabah (2,107), Penang (1,776), Kedah (1,487), Kelantan (1,458), Perak (1,197), Pahang (742), Terengganu (645), Kuala Lumpur (631), Melaka (448), Negeri Sembilan (229), Putrajaya (22), Perlis (20) and Labuan (4).
