19,307 new Covid-19 cases, Sarawak still highest

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia reported 19,307 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.

In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,919,774.

He said there were 24,855 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 1,657,486.

There are 242,802 active cases with 967 patients in intensive care and 464 needing respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the 323 deaths take the number of fatalities to 19,486.

Sarawak again recorded the highest number of cases with 3,118.

This was followed by Selangor with 2,700 cases, Sabah (2,298), Penang (2,243), Johor (2,032), Kelantan (1,438), Kedah (1,355), Perak (1,341), Terengganu (910), Pahang (661), Kuala Lumpur (513), Melaka (340), Negeri Sembilan (207), Perlis (108), Putrajaya (28) and Labuan (15).
