Petaling Jaya – Malaysia recorded 1,302 new Covid-19 cases on Sunday (March 28), bringing the cumulative total to 341,944.
In a tweet, the Health Ministry said within the same 24-hour period, there were four fatalities, bringing the death toll to 1,255.
Another 1,127 patients were discharged from medical facilities nationwide, which means a total of 326,309 people have recovered from the disease.
At present, there are 14,380 active cases in the country.
From this number, 169 are in intensive care units, with 76 requiring ventilation support.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also tweeted that Sarawak overtook Selangor as the state with the highest number of new cases with 426 compared to the latter’s 256.
Other states with new infections include Penang (212), Johor (176), Kuala Lumpur (58), Sabah (38), Kelantan (34), Pahang (32), Perak and Kedah (23 each), Negri Sembilan (nine), Labuan (six), Melaka (five) and Terengganu and Putrajaya with two cases each. – The Star
