Putrajaya – Malaysia recorded 5,419 more Covid-19 cases and 101 fatalities, the Health Ministry said on Tuesday (June 15).
This takes the country’s tally of infections to 667,876 and the death toll up to 4,069.
In a Twitter post, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said Selangor has 1,996 cases – the highest in the country.
Sarawak is second highest with 718 cases, followed by Kuala Lumpur with 650 cases.
There are 922 patients under intensive care, with 450 requiring ventilator support.
In the same 24-hour span, 6,831 more patients were discharged from treatment and observation.
The total number of people who have recovered from the virus in Malaysia is now 593,695.
Active Covid-19 cases have now come down to 70,112.
