Petaling Jaya – The health ministry has reported 7,452 Covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours.
In a Facebook post, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 610,574.
Selangor recorded the highest number of cases, with 2,509.
This was followed by Negeri Sembilan (843), Kuala Lumpur (678), Sarawak (651), Johor (412), Penang (370), Kelantan (312), Pahang (286), Kedah (263), Sabah (259), Perak (252), Melaka (206), Labuan (205), Terengganu (190), Putrajaya (12) and Perlis (4).
There were 7,444 local infections today involving 6,308 Malaysians and 1,136 foreigners, as well as eight imported cases.
The 109 deceased comprised four foreigners and 105 Malaysians, with 16 of them not suffering from any existing medical conditions.
The oldest of the deceased was a 98-year-old woman in Ipoh, while the youngest fatality involved a 27-year-old man in Kuala Lumpur. Nine patients were brought in dead. — FMT
