Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia reported 3,337 more Covid-19 infections on Thursday (Jan 14), a new daily record for the country.
Prior to this, the most number of cases in a day was 3,309, which was recorded just two days ago on Jan 12.
There were also 15 Covid-19 deaths on Thursday, taking the death toll to 578.
The country now has 147,855 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
On the same day, 1,710 Covid-19 patients were discharged which means 113,288 people in the country have recovered from the virus.
The number of people with active Covid-19 infections in Malaysia is now up to 33,989.
Currently, 195 patients are in intensive care, with 86 requiring ventilator support. – The Star
