Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia recorded 3,455 new Covid-19 infections on Tuesday (Feb 2), taking the number of confirmed cases in the country up to 222,628.
In the same 24-hour span, 21 people died due to Covid-19, the most number of deaths in a single day.
Malaysia’s Covid-19 death toll is now 791.
Meanwhile 3,661 patients were discharged which brings the number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 in the country since the pandemic began to 173,990.
There are currently 47,847 active Covid-19 cases being treated at the country’s hospitals and quarantine centres.
Of that figure, 327 patients are in intensive care units, with 145 on ventilator support. – The Star
