Petaling Jaya – Former MIC vice-president Tan Sri KS Nijhar has passed away at the age of 85.
Born in Pengakalan Hulu, Perak, Nijhar had contested and won the Subang parliamentary seat twice in 1999 and 2004.
In 1980, he was appointed by then MIC leader Tun S. Samy Velu to chair the party’s economics and education bureaus.
He also served as parliamentary secretary to the International Trade and Industry Ministry from 1989 to 1991. — The Star
