New Covid-19 cases climb to 13,215

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia’s Covid-19 case rate has continued to climb, as the country reported a record 13,215 infections on Thursday (July 15).

In a tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the country’s total cumulative number of cases stands at 880,782.

Selangor has the highest figure with 6,120 cases – a record for the state as well.

Negri Sembilan is second highest with 1,603 and Kuala Lumpur with 1,499 cases.

Meanwhile, the 110 deaths take the number of fatalities to 6,613.

There were 13,202 local infections today, comprising 10,845 Malaysians and 2,357 foreigners, as well as 13 imported cases.

The 110 who died comprised 95 Malaysians and 15 foreigners.

This was followed by Kedah (695), Johor (599), Penang (509), Melaka (484), Sabah (370), Sarawak (363), Perak (344), Kelantan (255), Pahang (222), Terengganu (70), Putrajaya (53), Labuan (26), and Perlis (3).
