New Covid-19 cases dip slightly, 212 deaths

Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia reported another slight dip in daily Covid-19 cases, with 17,236 detected in the past 24 hours.

In a tweet, health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the total number of infections now stands at 1,279,776.

Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 15,187 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 1,041,585.

There are now 227,230 active cases, with 1,095 patients being treated in intensive care and 579 requiring respiratory assistance.

Meanwhile, the 212 deaths take the number of fatalities to 10,961.

Selangor recorded the highest number of cases with 5,740.

This was followed by Kuala Lumpur (1,567), Kedah (1,328), Sabah (1,247), Johor (1,232), Negeri Sembilan (1,215), Perak (935), Kelantan (914), Penang (908), Pahang (604), Sarawak (589), Terengganu (501), Melaka (360), Putrajaya (66), Perlis (22) and Labuan (8).
