PARIS — Malaysian diver Nur Dhabitah Sabri secured a spot in the women’s individual 3m springboard semi-finals at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games yesterday.
The 25-year-old started brilliantly in the first dive, finishing second with 67.50 points at the Paris Aquatics Centre, Saint-Denis, but her performance declined with scores of 63, 54 and 48 in the second, third and fourth dives.
However, Dhabitah regained her composure in the fifth dive to bounce back and finish the round in 12th place with 283.65 points.
Only the top 18 divers qualify for the semi-finals scheduled today.
China’s Chen Yiwen topped the standings with 356.40 points, followed by Australia’s Maddison Keeney with 337.35 points in second place and Mexico’s Vazquez Montana in third (321.74 points).
