Petaling Jaya – UiTM Holdings Group of Companies has confirmed that one of its employees has contracted Covid-19.
The employee, who is based at their office in Dataran PHB Saujana, had tested positive for the virus on Sunday (Nov 1).
The employee is currently receiving treatment at a government hospital, it said in a statement.
“The employee is suspected to have contracted the virus outside of the office, as the employee had been working from home since Oct 12, ” it said.
The group said it is taking all possible measures to mitigate the further spread of the virus and ensure the safety of its employees.
Following the discovery, it had immediately closed its office in Dataran PHB until further notice and is undergoing full disinfection in accordance with Health Ministry guidelines.
“Detailed contract tracing is being carried out by the Health Ministry, as well as our Group Human Capital to identify and inform those who had close contact with the employee, as well as investigating the source of infection where the employee may have contracted it from, ” it said.
The group said that it has been carrying out various measures to contain the spread of the virus, including temperature checks on all employees, visitors, vendors, contractors and customers at its business premises, and routine sanitisation exercises.
It urged all employees to remain calm and continue to follow the rules under the conditional movement control order (MCO), the group’s work from home policy and other advisories issued while taking precautionary measures such as the practice of physical distancing and good personal hygiene.
It said it will also continue to undertake necessary measures to ensure the safety of all. – The Star
