Kuala Lumpur, 10 May 2021 – The Working for Workers (WFW) mobile application launched on 3 May 2021 has since recorded 59 complaints. A total of 29 complaints are from local workers while the rest are from foreign workers.
According to Minister of Human Resources, Datuk Seri M. Saravanan, the highest number of complaints are recorded in Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory (19 cases), followed by Selangor (18 cases), Kedah (6 cases) and others.
Among the prevalent issues are dismissal without notice, unpaid salary, annual leaves and employment contract.
The Ministry of Human Resources remains committed to implement action based on the complaints received and wishes to record our appreciation for all the feedbacks received.
The Ministry also wish to urge and encourage all workers to utilise this mobile application as a means to file grievances in an effort to ensure that workers’ rights are protected. – Kuala Lumpur Post
